The Beehive
Inserted between a century-old brick warehouse and a row of Victorian terrace houses on what was once a small carpark, the Beehive is an architectural gem to behold. This three-storey commercial build dubbed “The Beehive” is home to Luigi Rosselli Architects in Surrey Hills. The unexpected façade was constructed from recycled terracotta tiles. The concrete awning curves up to the street, opening the ground floor to the light. Internally the building is a light-filled studio designed to stimulate creativity and teamwork. The open plan design features custom built joinery, largely repurposed from the former studio and continues the theme of upcycling and recycling. The roof access stair is constructed with perforated steel that allows light to filter down from the skylight which opens up.
